It was an amazing day on Saturday. The sun was blazing across Auckland city and we experienced a glimpse of the summer to come. There was a good turn out and positive vibe amongst the artists as battle commenced at 10 am. There were many stand out walls created over the day, each crew stepped up and brought the heat. It was obvious it would be a hard one for the judges to call. In the end, RTR and GBAK were very close in points and it was almost a draw. Ultimately RTR’s clarity in letter treatment and original approach to the Tsunami subject matter brought them victory. GBAK claimed 2nd position and NSP did well also, snatching up 3rd place.
Tomorrow, An auction will go live on www.sella.co.nz to sell off the walls from the weekends competition to raise money for Oxfam‘s Tsunami relief efforts in the pacific Islands. Please spread the word, check out the auction and bid, we really want to raise as much money as possible to assist in the rebuilding of the devastated villages in Samoa. Watch this space!!
